There were some really good stories in here. I think my favorite was actually Blue Boots, by Robin Hobb. As frequently as her writing has disappointed me recently, when she does something right, she does it really well. I discovered a new author I'm looking forward to reading more of. There were also a few stories I really didn't care for, too, which is the case with any anthology. I was actually pretty disappointed in the one by Peter S. Beagle. It's received good reviews by most readers, but it really fell flat for me.
Thoughts of a nerdy feminist
My first and truest love is fantasy, but I dabble in just about any genre. Not everything I like is 100% perfect when examined through a feminist lens, but I am a firm believer that it's all right to like problematic things, as long as you can acknowledge what is problematic about it and not be a jerk about it.
