The Ugly Tin Orrery - Rachael Acks Another enjoyable read featuring Captain Ramos. This one gets us started with a train robbery. We get a bit more of a glimpse of the background of Simms, one of her major supporting characters, who I've grown rather fond of. I would quite enjoy seeing another story detailing the rescue of his daughter, which is mentioned in here. I'm also curious as to what happened to Dolly's mother.

I was pleased to see Deliah once again. I don't entirely understand all of her motivations, but she's quite entertaining. She seems to be somewhat of a kindred spirit to Ramos, but as I've been inside Captain Ramos's head, I find her a bit easier to grok. I'd love to see more of Deliah, at any rate.

Also, this story brought in Geoffrey Douglas once again. I disliked him as a main character in the first story, but found it worth tolerating him for the payoff at the end of that story. Seeing him through Ramos's eyes was a little bit more fun, and I also found it pretty rewarding seeing some of his own machinations show themselves at the end.

While mentioning things I would like to see, I also have to include the Infected. At any rate, I look forward to the next installment!
