I don't read much steampunk, but I know the general idea. There was indication that there was a lot more to all of the characters than what was revealed, and I believe this is in part because she will be writing more in the future about some of these characters. I wasn't sure about it at first, as reserved and prude as the main character was, although the ending made it worthwhile. I saw some hints that led me to guess at the ending, but I didn't figure everything out until it was pretty much in the midst of being revealed. Anyway, it was a great ending. You should totally read this.

My first and truest love is fantasy, but I dabble in just about any genre. Not everything I like is 100% perfect when examined through a feminist lens, but I am a firm believer that it's all right to like problematic things, as long as you can acknowledge what is problematic about it and not be a jerk about it.
